The Kinder Morgan pipeline will expand on the 60-year old pipeline that cuts from Edmonton Alberta to the beautiful Burrand Inlet British Columbia. The expansion will triple the amount of crude oil transported to the coast from 300,000 to 890,000 barrels of crude a day. This would result in 400 oil tankards running through the Inlet each year. A leak (which ALL PIPELINES DO) would harm much of the coast of Northern British Columbia, and damage the territory for Treaty 6, Treaty 8 and the Metis Nation of Alberta (Zone 4), as well as numerous traditional territories and 15 First Nation Reserve lands in British Columbia.

Les racines du kwela sud-africain et du gospel sont entrelacées avec le jazz et l'avant-gard, avec des branches se développant pour toucher le monde à travers la migration de ses joueurs (la survie) et l'ouverture de ses sons. On joue la musique d'Abdullah Ibrahim, de Dudu Pukwana, de Mongezi Feza, de Johnny Dyani, de voyageurs internationaux comme Don Cherry et William Parker, ainsi que de notre propre musique.

This is a very special music! The roots of South African kwela and gospel are intertwined with jazz and the avant gard, with limbs and branches growing out to touch the world through the migration of its players (survival) and the openness of its sounds. We play the music of Abdullah Ibrahim, Dudu Pukwana, Mongezi Feza, Johnny Dyani, international sound travellers like Don Cherry and William Parker, and our own music too.
